NewsLove to sell Cobain's belongingsCourtney Love plans to sell the belongings of her late husband Kurt Cobain, according to a report on Spinner, and donate some of the proceeds to charity. Cobain committed suicide in April 1994, and Love said she hopes the Christie's auction of his personal items will allow her to move on. Love previously sold a stake in Cobain's publishing catalog for $50 million. "[My house] is like a mausoleum," she said. "My daughter [14-year-old Frances Bean] doesn't need to inherit a giant hefty bag full of flannel f***ing shirts...A sweater, a guitar, and the lyrics to 'Teen Spirit'--that's what my daughter gets. And the rest of it we'll just f***ing sell." Love says Cobain's impact on her is still considerable. "I still wear his pajamas to bed," she said. "How am I ever going to go form another relationship in my lifetime wearing Kurt's pajamas?" Interpol showcase new album in London Interpol showcased a series of new tracks from their forthcoming album tonight (July 2) for a one-off show in London. The Astoria gig, which coincided with the release of the New York four-piece's new single 'The Heinrich Maneuver' gave the band a chance to warm up for this weekend's appearance at T In The Park and Oxegen, as they played four new songs from 'Our Love To Admire'. Kicking off with album opener 'Pioneer To The Falls', Interpol went on to perform 'Mammoth', 'Rest My Chemistry' and their new single. The four-piece's set also borrowed heavily from their debut 'Turn On The Bright Lights' and 2004 LP 'Antics'. Although singer Paul Banks said very little throughout the gig, he did thank the crowd on several occasions and commented on how "special" they were. Along with crowd favourites 'Slow Hands', 'NYC' and 'Stella Was A Diver And She Was Always Down', the band received the biggest cheer when they belted out hit single, 'Evil' before closing the show with an extended intro into 'PDA' |
